Principal's Message

Firefly Families,

As principal of Ikego Elementary school, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year in Ikego. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new and returning families to the 2023-24 school year. We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of the Ikego family. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow academically and social-emotionally to be college and career ready. With tradition, comes great responsibility. Our team of educators are committed to ensuring Ikego Elementary continues to provide standards of high-quality instruction in every classroom with deep care. Our teachers spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning. Our teachers utilize researched based best practices and analyze data to determine current skill levels and to set goals for growth and improvement. We believe that all students possess the skills to GLOW.

I am honored to continue to serve as the principal of Ikego for the 23-24 SY. It is truly a privilege to be a part of the community where parents, teachers and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social-emotional growth. As I enter into my 20th year in education, I understand the importance of communication and partnerships. Please feel free to contact me to share your ideas on ways we can work together to ensure our fireflies #Shineon .

Once again, welcome back! Let’s make it another great year in Ikego together!

Glowingly yours,

Mary F. Fisk
